Job Vacancy – Lending Officer

St Francis Union, Ennis, Co. Clare is a large community-based credit union with 9 offices in the county is currently recruiting for the role of an experienced Lending Officer. This role reports to the Head of Lending and is an exciting new opportunity where you play a pivotal role within our credit union by providing efficient lending services to our valued members.

This full-time permanent position is based in Ennis, Co Clare with some possible travel between our eight other branches.

The successful candidate will have proven lending experience in the Personal, SME & Mortgage sectors. The Lending Officer will support the organisation in executing the strategic plan of the credit union from a lending and business development perspective.

This position delivers a best-in-class standard of customer service, inclusive of dealing with loan queries, handling loans and insurance, administration and offering information and support as required for credit union members across all channels.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

• A primary degree in business/finance, be QFA qualified and hold further qualifications related to finance.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Lending role in a financial institution.
• Personal, SME and Mortgage underwriting experience desirable.
• Strong business acumen with ability to interpret business financial statements and key driver of results.
• Proven record in managing credit quality and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
• Strong attention to detail skills and can work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Affinity to the ethos and values of the credit union
• Ability to deal with a high workload while maintaining accuracy and completeness of work.
